Big restaurant goers who were shocked by the shoddy food and poor staff approach. We were made to wait for half an hour for a table (and so had a drink in the bar) only to be taken to the restaurant after thirty minutes to find lots of empty tables! A clear ploy to get you to buy a drink before dinner. Food was awful - bacon pretending to be parma ham, very dried onions in our 'freshly made' tomato and onion salad (so hard you wouldn't believe it) and very mediochre food for the price (£14 a main course was not the cheapest - glad we didn't pay more). When we raised a polite comment with the manager, her response was "well I only bring the food out - do you want to speak with the chef?". I was gobsmacked. Other tables around us were also sending food back and complaining. We left. Found that Keswick is a little starved of good restaurants in general, but Sweeneys was good the next night and the Fox and Harrier in nearby Threlkeld is worth a vist - fab food there. Avoid Luca's!!!
